Experience Pittsburgh’s largest Fourth of July fireworks display during the City of Pittsburgh Independence Day Celebration on July 4.

In 2026, Pittsburgh will join communities across the nation in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. In the lead-up to the City of Pittsburgh’s award-winning Independence Day Celebration, residents and visitors can enjoy a weeklong series of patriotic ceremonies, concerts, family activities, public art, and community events throughout the city, made possible by our many civic partners. Visit Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village & The Heinz History Center

Have a historic Fourth of July to remember with special activities at Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village. An affiliate museum of the Senator John Heinz History Center, Meadowcroft is the oldest known site of human habitation in North America.

Celebrate the spirit of America on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with historical demonstrations and period games at Meadowcroft’s 18th-century frontier and 19th-century rural village. Throughout the day, visitors can also explore the prehistoric wonders of the Meadowcroft Rockshelter.

The Heinz History Center is also hosting History After Hours: America 250. For one night only, join the History Center as they toast to the nation’s 250th anniversary with five floors of revolutionary revelry.

Saturday, July 4, 6–11 pm

Secure the perfect view of Pittsburgh’s beautiful fireworks in an explosively fun way at the Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Science Center! Tickets include a reserved viewing area for the massive fireworks show across the river at 9:35 p.m., a movie and popcorn in The Rangos Giant Cinema, a Fourth of July show in the planetarium, live entertainment, a cash bar, and four floors of exhibits.

Celebrate America’s Birthday Aboard the Gateway Clipper

Board one of Gateway Clipper Fleet's riverboats and celebrate the 4th of July out on the water — Pittsburgh style! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of July 4 on the Three Rivers.

The dinner cruise features a fantastic Independence Day Buffet, music, dancing, and a fabulous view of the fireworks! Or, go on a one-hour Sightseeing Cruise for the best view in the city to enjoy the sights and sounds.

Franklin Park Borough - Food trucks, activities, entertainment, petting zoo, ax throwing, and more starting at 4 p.m. with fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 28:

Ross Township - Parade and fireworks celebration from 5-9 p.m. with food trucks, petting zoo, live music, and more.

Friday, July 3:

Findlay - Fireworks at Recreation and Sports Complex at Leopold Lake at 9:45 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. with music, food, airbrush artists, and giveaways.

Hampton Township - Community Day celebration begins at 4 p.m. with live music, community vendors, inflatables, food vendors, and more, plus fireworks in the evening.

Carnegie - Carnegie Park after sunset

Saturday, July 4:

Mt. Lebanon - Fireworks at Mt. Lebanon Main Park at 9 p.m. Live music, food, music, games and more. The event starts at noon that day.

Crafton - Crafton Heritage 5k race

Monroeville - Monroeville Mall Annex at 9:30 p.m. The parade starts at 9 a.m. at Miracle Mile Shopping Center, then proceeds to the Monroeville Convention Center.
